As you may know, our scheduled Open and Affirming church member vote will take place January 13 after our worship service. What Pastor Tom was going to present as a message Sunday, January 13 during worship he is now going to offer as a Bible study after worship Sunday, January 6 for friends and members, and of course anybody who wants to sit in, listen, ask questions, and discuss. This Bible study will not be your regular Bible study. You will learn a tremendous amount about the New Testament in a short time. You will see a much more varied and wide-ranging view of scripture as it pertains to ethical questions. It will be challenging. It will look at the Bible in new ways. Some classic texts that include homosexuality in them will be discussed, as will other ethical issues that were tough for people living at the time of the New Testament to deal with. Your mind will be fully engaged and your understanding of the bible and what it is will surely grow. Do not miss this opportunity to study scripture in a deep way for a very meaningful issue. Please plan on coming to worship Sunday, January 6 and staying for Pastor Tom’s bible study. Child care will be provided. These scriptures listed below will be the heart of the bible study: Acts 2:37-42, Acts 8:26-39, Acts 16:27-34, Romans 14-15:6, 1Corinthians 6:9-10, 1Corithians 5:11, Ephesians 5:3-5, John 19.
Hope to see you there!
